Flatform/Platform Shoes

I have a feeling they are here to stay.

They were on the Prada's spring runway back in 2011.

Rihanna wore an interesting, muddy pair of creepers in her "We Found Love" music video...

and also wore an all black pair with thigh-highs and plaid.
Jeffrey Campbell x Wild Fox Couture joined forces and turned ballet flats into ballet platforms
And now, I finally have a pair that I can't wait to wear.

Mad for Plaid

It's finally getting cold and you know what that means... time to take out the plaid. Plaid always works and will always work. It was a popular pattern in the 1950s found in dresses and mens suits. It was popular in the 1980s and 1990s either worn for a preppy or grunge look. And it's back again. When I think of plaid, there are three awesome things I remember:
  1. Clueless: This movie is like the Mean Girls of the 1990s. Cher, Dionne, and Tai have so many memorable outfits throughout the movie. Their plaid on plaid ensembles are so cute. I know I'm not the only girl who was wishing they had Cher's virtual closet or went on a date with that god Christian even though he turned out ______.
  2. My So-Called Life: When I started watching this show on Netflix, I was going through a rough time. Just like any teenager, I spent days thinking about my purpose on this earth and never came to any conclusions. I was full of self-loathing, self-pity, and had no idea who I was. That's why I loved this show. Angela (main character) was a mirror image of me. Plus, I really loved the way they dressed. Patterns on patterns on patterns. Another plus is that Jordan Catalano is attractive and the definition of the teenage heartthrob.
  3. GUYS IN KILTS: Any guy that has the courage to wear a skirt is just awesome.
I just really want a plaid skirt right now, but I cant find any affordable ones. Can anyone tell me where I can find one? Thanks.

Tavi Gevinson: Fashion Icon, Role Model, Teenage Girl

This photo doesn't belong to me
If I could be anyone in the world, I would be Tavi Gevinson. She's fashionable, smart, and ballsy. This girl has some major spunk. At just the age of 11, she created her own fashion blog, The Style Rookie. Four years later, she unveiled her online magazine, Rookie Mag, that was especially made for teenage girls. What have I even been doing with my life? Tavi has done everything I want to do before she even turned my age. She honestly has become one of my biggest influences. I mean just look at her! She models, edits, writes, takes pictures, she recently published a book, and she's even in a band! What girl wouldnt want to be that? Tavi, you are so gr8.

More Tavi pictures I dont own

Bloggin

Hi. My name is Fatima Jimenez, 17.
There are many reasons as to why I am starting this blog:
  • I've always had trouble expressing myself orally. The D I got in my speech class proved that. I just get really nervous and have too many thoughts going on in my head all at once that I end up sounding like a broken record player or say things like, "the cat rain poop tree began giraffe noise." Because of this, writing has become the easiest outlet for my thoughts.
  • I like music and fashion and art and books and movies. I think a lot of people do actually. So I said to myself, "Wouldn't it be cool major if I wrote about things I like and other people like too?" (I watched Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century the other day and the slang stuck to me)
  • and lastly, I don't really have anything better to do other than watching movies and go to school, my life is pretty lame.
Even if I don't succeed as a blogger, I'll be kinda happy with myself because I finally got the guts to start a blog in the first place.
