Music Spotlight: Nick Waterhouse

I absolutely love this guy. Nick Waterhouse is from Los Angeles, California. He is the producer/singer/song-writer that created the amazing album, Time's All Gone. His look and sound is very Buddy Holly, but he still manages to create his own voice and stand out from the rest. What I love about him is that he has soul -- soul you can feel and see when he plays.  Music is his passion and that can be seen in the quality of his work. His band has consists of a drummer, tambourine/back-up singers, and a sax player that never fails to give me the chills. Time [may be] All Gone for Waterhouse, but I have all the time in the world to listen to him sing and play his guitar.

Mass movie review

I stopped writing again. Ugh. Im very disappointed in myself. Since I've been gone, I actually kind of did productive stuff though. I've watched several movies from my watch and rewatch list, I'm halfway through 30 Rock (hilarious), and I started exercising! Anywayz~ Since I haven't written in a while, this post will include all the movies I've watched thus far and a review in five words or less. Yay.

Took me the longest time to get everything straight.

Vampire Weekend update.

Last year, I found out that one of my favorite bands of all time, Vampire Weekend, was coming out with a new album, LP3. I searched the whole World Wide Web for months looking for any leaked songs and/or track lists. At the end of my quest, all I found were "subliminal"tweets, a video of Ezra Koenig ♡ looking like a god while playing his guitar, and this fanblog that has slowly ruined my sanity. Today, however, while skimming through a magazine of Entertainment Weekly, I stumbled upon a small article. LP3 is a forsure thing, but the release date is TBA. To make this news even more awesome, Vampire Weekend performed a new song on Jimmy Kimmel... last year. How did I not know this?! I blame myself; I never really watch late night TV unless Ryan Gosling is on it. But how could I miss this?! Anyways, I finally saw the performance of, "Unbelievers," and am about to pee my pants of excitement. Here you go!

Something like a Phenomena

After a 4 year hiatus and several solo projects, the Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah's have finally decided to bless their fans with a new album, Mosquito, which will include band members from TV on the Radio, LCD Soundsystem, and others. The band recently performed at the Glass House in Pomona where some very lucky fans were able to get a sneak peek on the surprise that is to come. The album is set to be released on April 15. AHH. What a great way to start the year.

We love you Karen O.

Flatform/Platform Shoes

I have a feeling they are here to stay.

They were on the Prada's spring runway back in 2011.

Rihanna wore an interesting, muddy pair of creepers in her "We Found Love" music video...

and also wore an all black pair with thigh-highs and plaid.
Jeffrey Campbell x Wild Fox Couture joined forces and turned ballet flats into ballet platforms
And now, I finally have a pair that I can't wait to wear.

Happy Birthday Elvis Presley and David Bowie!

"Space Oddity"

"Love Me Tender"

"Life on Mars?"

I hope Elvis is being awesome wherever he may be. Thanks for being such a hunk and great musician.
New David Bowie album this year? I hope the rumors are true!

These are a few of my favorite things

My mom got me all of Wes Anderson's films + Squid and The Whale; she knows me so well. There's gonna be a lot of Wes Anderson film and music posts to come. You could see my necklaces, art bag, and pictures in the back. I like that stuff too.

I got a whole pack of these really cool Keith Haring wall stickers at Ikea. woot woot~

So much nail polish and only ten fingers.

And I finally got a record player that I love + The Rapture, The Sound of Music Soundtrack, and The Head and The Heart Vinyl that I had before the record player.

New Years.

New Years was full of karaoke, lots of hugs, tons of apple cider, my cousins, a sleepover, a fort, American Horror Story, tamales, tacos, and dancing. It was a good entrance into 2013, although it would've been even better without Gangnam Style being played after every other song.

What are you doing New Years Eve?

Quick Question: Since when have people been calling New Years Eve NYE? I thought it meant New York Everyday or something.

Happy new year~

Goodbye ?

I don't believe the world is ending today, but if it is, why not have a fitting playlist in the background?

In other news...

As many of you know, or not know, Gossip Girl's final episode was aired this last Tuesday. I watched all of season 6 in the past two days. GG was always one of those shows that I tried watching while it was on television, but I would always go back to looking for it online or waiting for Netflix to put up the next season. Although I wasn't shocked by the finale because someone spoiled Gossip Girl's identity via Twitter, I am finally free from GG's grasp! When I get into shows, I GET INTO SHOWS. I hate surprises and so I have to know what's going to happen in the next episode right away. I have honestly spent full days watching TV shows on Netflix or the internet just to finish a season. I know I am not alone here.

This clip from Portlandia is my life in a nutshell:

Final remark: Go get hooked on Portlandia. Trust me on this one.

Holiday Mix.

I'm not going to lie, but I've had "All I Want for Christmas" by Mariah Carey on repeat for days.
I hope you guys enjoy this mix as much as I do.
